‘9/11’ – REMEMBERING…. “What We Say We Will Never Forget!”

On September 11th each year from 2017 to 2020, the Hood County Prayer Task Force and the Friends of Memorial Lane have led our community to remember and give thanks to God for those who fell on and as a result of the tragedy of September 11, 2001 and for our first responders and military. This special service is held at Memorial Lane in the Jim Burks Firefighters Memorial Park, 561 North Travis Street, Granbury, Texas.

Through Sight, Sound, and Song, participants re-experience where they were on the morning of September 11, 2001, to remember how it impacted their lives, and to again relive how our country pulled together to remain ONE NATION UNDER GOD – united to one goal. It is a time when we also celebrate life and renew our commitment to never forget those brave ones who ran in unafraid to save others during the attack on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon – a time to remember our military, our first-responders who served then and are serving today. We remember those innocent victims who became brave warriors on the United Airlines Flight 93, preventing them from becoming another weapon of destruction.

An important aspect of this service of thanksgiving and remembrance is to help the generations of young people who did not live through the 9/11 tragedy appreciate its significance in our history.

Isaiah 6:8 Then I heard the voice of the LORD saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
