Meeting and Banquet Info

Our normal LGMA luncheon meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month at noon.  Food is normally provided, but occasionally we meet at a restaurant.  In such cases, each person pays for themselves.

Our April  luncheon will be held at noon on Tuesday, April 16 at La Fiesta Mexican Grill and Cantina.  La Fiesta is located at 1112 South Morgan Street in Granbury.  We will pay for our own lunches.

Our speaker will be one of our members, Trish Burwell.  She will be sharing how the Senior Center serves our community through four lines of service, projections on an increase in service and how great the need is in Hood County.

Trish has served as the Executive Director for the Hood County Senior Center since January 2024, after having volunteered with the Center for many years.  Prior to this role, she worked in the healthcare industry for more than 15 years, with a focus on educating the community about the importance of utilizing resources, benefits, and services to ensure the best quality of life possible through the stages of aging.  She has spent a great deal of time speaking to the public to determine how to meet people where they are in life and assist accordingly.

Prior to this role, Trish served on Granbury City Council for six years, most recently as Mayor Pro Tem.  She chose not to run for reelection to further her education and serve the community from a new perspective.  Her focus is on speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves.  She currently serves on the Local Emergency Planning Committee, the Transit Board, the regional Meals on Wheels Advocacy Committee, and moderates RECAP, a local elder resource networking group that she formed in 2011.

Trish holds a bachelor’s in communications and is currently working to earn a master’s in public administration from Tarleton State University.  She is married to Jim Burwell, and collectively they have six adult children.

Please RSVP by clicking this link no later than noon, this FRIDAY, April 12.

Dues for 2024 are due.  Dues are $25 for your organization and cover all LGMA members from the organization.  You can pay them at the meeting or online through our website.
