Once a year, people from all over join together in reading God\u2019s Word aloud in public.\u00a0 We begin in Genesis 1 and read out loud through Revelation 22 on the Hood County Courthouse grounds in Granbury, Texas.\u00a0\u00a0 People read in person on site at the Courthouse gazebo.\u00a0 Each person who wants to read is allotted a specific 15-minute time slot(s) when they read a portion of Scripture.\u00a0 They pick up where the previous person left off and continue reading until their time is up.\u00a0 This continues for about a week during the last week in April and the first week of May every year.<\/p>\n

Our first International Bible Reading Marathon (BRM) of Granbury, TX was held in 2002.\u00a0 It takes about 85 hours to read through the Bible, so it\u2019s broken into 336 15-minute segments.<\/p>\n

Our desire is to have different people from our local area of Granbury\/Hood County and all over the world read God\u2019s Word during the Marathon.\u00a0 If you have a desire to read aloud in person, we\u2019d love for you to sign up.\u00a0 In 2026, the Marathon begins on Friday, May 8th and continues through Wednesday, May 13th.<\/strong>\u00a0 Sign-ups are underway.<\/p>\n

  1. Click on date you want to read.\u00a0 Only the dates in blue are selectable.\u00a0 (NOTE: The calendar that comes up will be the one for the current month.\u00a0 Click on the appropriate blue triangle pointer at the top of the calendar to change months.)<\/li>\n
  2. In the box that appears, click on the start times of all the times you want to read.<\/li>\n
  3. When finished selecting times for the selected date, click the X<\/strong> in the upper right hand corner of the times box.\u00a0 If you want to select times for another date, click on that date and repeat steps 2 and 3 as needed.<\/li>\n
  4. All your selected times will be listed below the calendar<\/strong>.\u00a0 Verify that they are right.\u00a0 If not, cancel the incorrect times and re-select.<\/li>\n
  5. Fill in your name, e-mail address and phone number.<\/li>\n
  6. Hit\u00a0Sign Up<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  7.
